Damp Privacy Policy

Effective 17 September 2026

Damp is a habit tracker for drinking less. It is built so that it does not need your data.

What Damp collects

Nothing that identifies you. Damp has no accounts, no sign-in and no server of its own.

What stays on your device

These are stored locally in the app's container (shared only with the app's own Home Screen widget on the same device) and are deleted when you delete the app. Damp does not write to Apple Health.

What Damp can't see

Damp does not know what you drink, where you are, who you're with, or anything you don't tap. It does not read messages, photos, contacts or location.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple's privacy policy applies to payment information. Damp only receives confirmation that a purchase is active.

Analytics

Damp may record anonymous, aggregated events about how the app itself is used (for example, "onboarding completed" or "night logged") to improve the product. These events contain no personal information, are not linked to your identity, and do not include the numbers you enter beyond whether a night was dry. Damp does not use advertising identifiers and does not sell data.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Damp uses them only for the nightly check-in you scheduled and, if you chose it, a reminder before a free trial ends. They are scheduled on your device.

Health disclaimer

Damp is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you are concerned about your drinking, talk to a doctor. In the US, SAMHSA's helpline is 1-800-662-4357.

Children

Damp is intended for adults of legal drinking age and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
